A US State Department team traveled to Venezuela on Friday for the first time since the ouster of Nicolas Maduro, according to a US official.

Venezuela will release a “significant number” of Venezuelan and foreigners imprisoned in the country, the head of Venezuela’s national assembly said Thursday.

“The president has been kidnapped and is a prisoner of war in a New York cell — we demand for them to be returned to us alive,” Cabello said.

President Trump said the U.S. stands to make a lot of money off Venezuelan oil, and he wants American oil companies to go in and spend at least $100 million to refurbish that country's industry to get the oil flowing again.
