Matt Ryan comments on Michael Penix Jr.'s future as Falcons QB
The Atlanta Falcons introduced Matt Ryan as their new president of football on Tuesday morning. Ryan spent 14 years as the team's starting quarterback (2008-2021) and will now serve as a key front office member and right-hand man to Falcons owner Arthur Blank.
The Atlanta Falcons fired head coach Raheem Morris after a second consecutive 8-9 season and are ramping up the search for their 20th head coach in franchise history. Although there are multiple names on the table,
Ryan is among five ex-NFL players currently holding shot-calling positions in front offices. He’s one of four who had no previous front-office experience. The others are John Lynch (49ers), Chris Spielman (Lions) and Tom Brady (Raiders). Ryan’s job seems to be unique among them.
